Small, clean and cozy "bed and breakfast" with room for 1-5 people.
Easy to find from Skavsta, Stockholm-Arlanda and drive north or south. 4 metro stops (7 minutes) from the center along the blue line (Hjulsta No. 10 and Akalla No. 11) at station VÄSTRA SKOGEN (www.sl.se).
Small breakfast included each day, with homemade bread and for the first breakfast you even get a warm cinnamon bun. Full access to the kitchen with its own place in the guest refrigerator and pantry.
If you are 1-3 people, you get a room with 2 or 3 (crowded) beds. 4-5 people also get the larger living room with a sofa bed (140 cm thick matress), a private dinner table and the large glazed balcony (can be opened). In summer, the sun on the balcony is between 13 o´clock and 21.30. Even at this luxurious accommodation you share the bathroom / toilet and kitchen with the hostess and possibly some additional guest, maximum of 6 people total in the apartment.
The price also includes: TV / DVD in every room and many movies to borrow for free, wireless WIFI, sheets, towels, shampoo & conditioner, soap, hair dryer, iron and cleaning.
If you want, I give advice on good restaurants, museums and places where you have great views of Stockholm. Remember to bring your bathing clothes! Stockholm has many fine bathing outdoors in the summer. In the winter, you´d love to visit some of the very old, fashionable bathhouse with saunas, or go to large, modern and family-friendly pools.
The boats to the Stockholm archipelago depart every day of the year (www.stromma.se). Or why not take a trip to Åland and Finland and enjoy their smorgasbord! I especially recommend Eckerölinjen smaller vessels. They have an Åland touch on the buffet. Shuttle service to the ferry in Grisslehamn 85 km north of Stockholm departs from Kista, only 4 metro stations from the accommodation.
You can also go on your own to Grisslehamn, tourist cards are valid for the entire Stockholm County! On the way there, you can stay in the cozy little town of Norrtälje – I can help you book accommodation at the lovely hostel at the city's entrance or at some other staying in the city. Buses from Stockholm to Norrtälje depart several times an hour.
Back to Stockholm: Your b&b is situated in a green area with lovely jogging paths, summer 5 minute slow walk to Huvudsta bath large family friendly outdoor pool and bridges in Ulvsundasjön (Mälaren) and large stables and 4H-farm. Canoe rentals nearby with discount for this accommodation's guests.
The surrounding area has different kinds of shops and restaurants (www.solna.se). There are also four palaces with magnificent castles parks (picknick!) and guided tours, and a large glass-enclosed shopping center 15 minutes walk from home.
Restaurants in the neighborhood:
• In the water you will find two restaurants (http://sjokrogen.se + http://grodhavet.com)
• walk across a field to a very good Thai restaurant (http://hongthai.se)
• in Huvudsta center, 500 meters away, is a great Lebanese restaurant with belly dancing (www.cavederoi.se).
• Only 200 meters from the accommodation there is a restaurant with buffet lunch (closed some weeks in summer);
• little further away are three pizzerias, a suchi bar and a Chinese restaurant.
I would also like three restaurants in downtown Stockholm with Swedish food, in different price ranges. If you live in me has been a 10 percent discount on all food in herring kiosk at Slussen subway!
