The apartment was perfectly located for all the principal sites, cafes and restaurants in Central Rome. It completely met our expectations, and Luigi the host was extremely helpful. A very secure and safe apartment and even though so central was beautifully quiet.
On the WIMDU site, Apartment Garibaldi was an idyllic place to enjoy a stay in Rome. Everything was very attractive and tempting, but when we arrived on the 18th of July, it was quite disappointing. It was not an apartment on the grond floor, but a small living/kitchen area for 6 persons - certainly not for ten) with a basement converted to bedrooms with a rather noisy ventilation system. There was airconditioning in the daytime living space, but it didn't work despite the instructions in the "appartment-book". (fiddling a bit with remote-control, switching on/off, disconnect from power socket, reset divice reset remote control). I E-mailed daily with Luigi, without any lasting result. The first days the kitchen lacked a tap (broken) which would be repaired on Monday. So wather had to be taken from the bathroom. In our absence the tap was repaired and Luigi had a look at the airconditioner (it worked was the comment). Wel it didn't, and after 3 more days, suddenly somebody entered the apartment. Quite a shock for my wife being there alone. It appeared to be an engineer to repair the airco device. It took 3 persons over an hour to repair it on the pavement in the street. But it had brought a lot of inconvenience. And we couldn't leave the house.
And coincidentally, not Luigi's fault, it apparently was the hottest summer for a century (all the Romans we met complained about it). And we could not even open a window, whereas the front of the apartment faced full southwest, it was an oven.
The bathroom was incredably filthy: mould all over the extempore shower area and the floor was porous, soaking up filth, soap etcetera. Hairs from previous guests, a sanitairy disaster area.
It was that my children and their guests were booked on an airplane on Friday, so we had to serve our time there, but we (my wife and I) left on Friday, diillusionised. It was a waste of money.
We didn't have any contact entry for WIMDU, so we were forced to accept it all.
Absolutly beautiful appartment, very clean and our host was very nice and helpful to us.The appartment was very clean and everything you need for your great time in beautiful Italy was there. Great location with beautiful view. Thank you...We definetly will be back and recoment that appartmet
Dear Claudia, dear Luigi, we had a VERY pleasant stay in your appartment Via Garibaldi - very stylish, very well equipped, perfectly situated and a wonderful and personal welcome and service from you and Claudia. We will definetely recommend you and the appartment to friends planning a visit Rome - no matter if families or couples or groups!
Best regards and thanks for all from Uwe, Diana and kids!
Garibaldi Appartement was great! Great spot and great appartement(special, well equipped, nice and clean). We had lots of fun in Rome. The neighbourhood is very nice, much good places to eat and drink.
First of all, we had a wonderful stay in your appartment Cappellari B!
As you might know, we had an accident with the downstairs key.
It just broke inside the lock.
Fortunately, a nice man in the repair shop across the street was able to get out the part stuck inside of the lock.
We are very sorry for this, but hopefully it is ok with you.
Have a nice day!
Bedt regards Tonje Svendsby
