Resumen del alojamiento
For dates special events in Amsterdam see below!
The studio is situated in a monumental grain silo called ‘De Stenen Silo’. The silo was built in the years 1896 to 1898 and completely renovated and converted into apartments in the period 1998 to 2000.
The modern and comfortable studio (one-room-apartment with private entrance, about 35 m2) offers a sitting area with design sofabed (by Rob Parry, 70 x 190 cm), cable tv, dvd-player, wireless internet (laptop friendly), kitchenette with microwave, coffeemachine, kettle/ watercooker, toaster, citrus press and refridgerator (NO cookingrings). Sleeping area with two single beds (boxspring, 80 x 200 cm), spacious wardrobe with ample hangers, iron and ironing board. Comfortable and modern bathroom with shower, toilet and hairdryer. Bed linen, bath and kitchen towels available. Communal terrace with table and chairs. Parking garage, bicycles and airconditioning to be paid and on request only (please ask for detailed information).
It is my pleasure to offer you a comfortable stay on a unique location in a monumental warehouse only minutes away from the city center of Amsterdam. The building is located on a dike in the river IJ, offering the accommodation stunning views over the river and the Western Harbour. You will live among the people and experience the dynamic city life of Amsterdam.
The studio is only minutes from where its hot and happening. The famous canals, the Jordaan-neighbourhood with lots of restaurants, bars and galeries, (food)markets during the weekend and much more. The number one shopping street of The Netherlands the ‘Haarlemmerdijk’. The renovated and upcoming city area the ‘Spaarndammerbuurt’ famous about its beautiful ‘Amsterdamse School’ architecture. Besides great restaurants and the typical Bruine Café’s (cozy brown bars) of Amsterdam, I would also recommend to visit the beautiful museums as there are the completely renovated and just reopened Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Stedelijk Museum, the newly opened fantastic Filmmuseum Eye (just at the otherside of the river) and many more. Easy to reach by bike or public transport (nearest busstop at 100 meters, only 950 meters away from Central Station). Like we, the people of Amsterdam always say, this city is more like a village, everything is within walking distance.
I would also like to recommend to visit the pitoresque surroundings of Amsterdam such as Alkmaar famous for the cheese market, Volendam famous for the fisherman, Marken famous for the clocks and not to forget the many windmills north from Amsterdam. In spring you just have to visit the Keukenhof, the famous flower gardens. When possible I will be pleased to help you organise your trips or to join you as a privat guide. A citymap and information about sight seeing in and around Amsterdam will be available in the room. I will be more than happy to answer all your questions about the ins and outs of Amsterdam, about where its hot and where its not...
I host my guests with care and offer my best services. Providing you with usefull information about Amsterdam and its surroundings. Traveling is discovering new cultures, meeting other people and experiencing local cuisine. I will make sure you will get the Dutch taste of it. I am looking forward to welcome you! See you in Amsterdam!
